Producer Update
June 22, 2004
Hi Everyone! Thanks for checking in to see what’s new. Summer just started, although for those of us in California it feels like it’s been here all year. Oh wait, it has. (Sorry to those who had to shovel all winter.) We are all working hard to get “Freedom Park” to a theater near you in September of 2004. Yes, that’s right, less than a year from when we shot the film it will be premiering in Massachusetts! For those of you who don’t know, we recently went to our first film festival for “Freedom Park,” called World Cinema Naples in Naples, Florida. We had a blast! “Freedom Park” won the Independent Spirit Award. We also had two screenings at the festival and got great feedback from people of all ages. Thanks to Jon, Julie, Georgia, Doug, Evil Tom, Tim, Skull, and Paul for traveling to Florida for the festival. It was really classy and a lot of fun!
Our Sound Design Team is hard at work on “Freedom Park” out in L.A. They do everything that makes the film sound professional including ambience noise, sound effects, adjusting levels of audio, and arranging and re-recording dialog. Our composers Julia and Cody are also hard at work in L.A. Jon and I met with them twice last week, and they are ready to work! Vic’s back east busy meeting with theater owners and working out the details of our big premiere in September. Oh yeah, we will be having our premiere in mid-September somewhere in Massachusetts. We’re also negotiating for our first theatrical run with the film. This means that hopefully “Freedom Park” will play at a theater for a couple of weeks. So, everyone has to go see it tons of times, and tell everyone you know to go see it tons of time. This will be great for the film and the future of independent film making in New England. We are also hard at work on creating the DVD as well as the Soundtrack. Lots of fun “Freedom Park” products are on the way. Chad is heading up the DVD creation, while Jamie Brown, writer and singer of the “Freedom Park” song, is working on producing the soundtrack. Fun stuff! Please check back soon to pre-order your soundtrack and DVD.
And, just to let you know how things are back in California. I moved back to L.A. in mid-May, and Vic just came to visit. We had a west coast “Freedom Park” reunion with Julie, Kevin, Jon, Chad, Matthew, Vic, and I from the crew. Matt McDonald, Peter Talieri, and Amie Donegan (our west coast based actors) also attended. New L.A. transplants Tim Fields, Nate Erwin, and David Applebaum came too. Nate also brought Sky, one of the Sound Design guys. It was so much fun to see everyone. And…it wasn’t all just fun. Jon, Vic, and I had a very productive meeting as well.
Oh yeah – very shortly the “Freedom Park” trailer will be on our site, ready to be viewed by the masses, so make sure you check back soon. I’ll continue to post updates to keep you all posted on what’s new with “Freedom Park”
Thanks and keep smiling,
Andrea Ajemian Producer
